Leveraging its strong expertise in the design of UHF RFID tags for returnable transport items, Confidex created Carrier Tough II, a thin UHF RFID tag that provides very long read range when used on both metallic and non-metallic containers, along with excellent resistance to heavy-duty use in harsh environments.

Carrier Tough II can be read from up to 12 meters when attached to metal and up to 11 meters on other surfaces, despite its compact dimensions of 115 mm x 30 mm x 3.9 mm. Ideal choice for enhancing visibility and control in operations involving roll cages, wooden pallets, plastic crates and totes, the tag has a rugged IP68 encasement and a highly durable background adhesive for being reliably used in harsh outdoor and industrial conditions. Upon request, Carrier Tough II can be delivered with a variety of customization options, including pre-programming or printing of barcodes, texts or numbers that will be protected with a cover film to survive repeated washing cycles, corrosive liquids and scratches.

This all-surfaces UHF tag is available in two two frequency versions, 865-868 MHz and 902-928 MHz. The standard chip option is the Impinj Monza 4QT chip, which offers 128 bits of EPC memory, a 48-bit unique serialized number, 512 bits of user memory and a range of advanced additional features, however also the Impinj Monza 4E is provided upon special request.
