The new product from Farsens — the Atlas — leverages four external independent compression load cells combined with Farsens’ EPC Gen 2 compliant passive sensor technology to allow easy and cost-effective wireless weigh-monitoring of goods.
Interrogated by any EPC Class 1 Gen 2 reader, the Atlas returns its EPC ID number along with the last weight measurement. The tag is an excellent choice for companies that need to perform continuous weigh-monitoring of assets and uncountable goods, such as liquids, without resorting to systems that require electrical wiring or maintenance due to replacement of batteries. The Atlas encasement can be fully customized for being embedded in non-metallic assets/materials, or protected for use in the harshest industrial environments. The Atlas is currently available with compression load cells that support up to 45 kgf or 900 kgf. Several different antenna models are available to meet specific application requirements in terms of read range and directivity.
