Recently unveiled by Xerafy, the Titanium Metal Skin are small UHF RFID labels for metal and non-metal surfaces that are specifically designed to overcome the problems related with RFID tagging of small electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets.
Measuring just 45 by 5.6 millimeters with a thickness of 0.86 millimeters, the Titanium Metal Skin fit the border case of smartphones and tablets and provide an affordable solution for RFID on-metal applications that usually present insuperable size and cost constrains. These RFID labels are ideally suited for small IT devices, foil-based packaging, medical supplies and a wide range of small high-value metallic goods. Their capability of working well also on non-metallic surfaces simplifies the development of the whole RFID solution since there is no need to use different tag models on different surfaces. The read range exceeds one meter while 128 bits of EPC memory, a serialized Tag IDentifier, large user memory and advanced security and privacy features are provided by the Impinj Monza 4QT chip.
The Titanium Metal Skin can be delivered with barcodes and human readable data printed on the surfaces are available in two regional versions, EU/ETSI and US/FCC.
Xerafy released also a standard label version of the Mercury Metal Skin inlay which can be printed and encoded by end users with common thermal transfer RFID printers, and provide high performance across all world’s regions.
